About Us

Methodism has been part of Christiansburg since the first church was constructed in 1826. The congregation has grown over the years and has required moving several times. The current building on West Main Street is the fourth church, and was completed in 1962. It is easy to find, and is in a great place to be able to meet your spiritual needs.

Pastor Mike Derflinger, and other staff members, work together to bring the Word of God to Christiansburg in a relevant and real way.

Our worship service is held at 10:00AM on Sunday morning. Come hear great preaching and music, and experience the warm fellowship that makes St. Paul what it is.

There are Sunday school classes for adults and children at 9:00AM. Come learn about our Creator with us!

St Paul UMC is a "Bridge Church!"  Your Council voted to join other churches in the Conference and take on that designation. Why? What does it mean? Most simply stated it is just a commitment to provide "support, nurture, and opportunities for connection" to persons whose church family disaffiliated and who are trying to determine their "next steps" in their life as a Christian. See the website https://nextsteps.vaumc.org/bridge-churches/ for more information.
